The cover have a little shelf wear and some slight soiling. The cover has library plastic. There are library stamps on the top spine of the pages. There is a call number sticker on the spine, and some glue on the back endpaper where a library pocket used to be. There is paper on the front cover left over from a sticker. Lt. Luis Mendoza is baffled by a bizarre series of crimes, a girl murdered in an alley, five children dead from assumed food poisoning, a suicide that wasn't, a rape that was, and missing parents. So he and his collegues furiously search for the man whose inhumanity caused these crimes.
